NEWS/The Egyptian Actor Amr Waked with Scarlett Johansson in “Lucy”

It was a thrilling to know that another Arabic actor is making his path and taking part in an international Hollywood film with prominent Hollywood stars. After the Syrian actor Jihad Abdo who took part in Nicole Kidman’s film “The Queen of Deserts” it’s now time for the Egyptian talented actor Amr Waked who joined Scarlett Johansson’s thriller “Lucy”. It is not the first time that Amr Waked acts next to Hollywood stars; in 2005, he played the role of a terrorist next to George Clooney in his film “Syriana” and the role of Rafik in Steven Soderbergh’s movie “Contagion”. “Lucy” debuted in first place at the box office in Lebanon last weekend, with Johansson’s mind tricks holding Marvel’s latest offering, “Guardians of the Galaxy,” at second in its debut.

Under the direction of Frenchman Luc Besson and starring Scarlett Johansson and Academy Award winner Morgan Freeman, “Lucy” remains at the first place in box office, according to BoxOfficeMojo.com. Johansson plays a versatile woman who develops supernatural powers after being kidnapped and forced to work as a drug mule. In the film, Johansson shares a kiss with fellow co-star Egyptian actor Amr Waked.

Amr Waked also co-starred as Yemni Sheikh Mohamad in 2012 in the British film “Salmon Fishing in the Yemen” with Emily Blunt, Ewan McGregor and Kristin Scott Thomas.

We will be waiting for his next films as well as many other Arabic artists who are going international!
