NEWS/Lebanese Singer Aline Lahoud To "The Voice France"

When you hear the name of “Aline Lahoud,” it really sounds familiar. Yes, she is the daughter of the well-known Lebanese singer Salwa El Katrib and the producer Nahi Lahoud, the brother of the prominent artist Romeo Lahoud. Of course, such a talent raised in a family full of art would show up one day and make a huge success.

It was the time when Aline Lahoud decided to participate in the French version of “The Voice”, after the great success of Anthony Touma, a Lebanese young singer, last year. The Lebanese singer Aline Lahoud overwhelmed The Voice France judges Mika, Jennifer, Florent Pagny & Garou, who all turned their chairs to witness the beauty and charisma of the lady who was singing in a strange language that they did not understand. It was risky for Aline Lahoud to sing in Arabic in front of the judges, all members that are not familiar with the style that she was singing. But she won the challenge and received s standing ovation by all the judges and audience for singing “ Khedni Maak”, the most popular song of her mother Salwa El Katrib, who passed away years ago. As Aline said, she believes her mother are watching over her now, and proud of her daughter’s success. That was Aline’s effect on the judges in the “blind auditions round” of the show at its 3rd season.

Florent Pagny asked Aline Lahoud if she sings in other languages, her response was that she has been able to sing in 8 languages. After she got all four coaches to turn the chair and all fighting to get ahold of her, she ended up choosing Florent Pagny, contrary to what everyone expected her to do by going with Mika, who is of Lebanese origins and the first judge to turn his chair after hearing the oriental style and the brilliant voice who was singing in Arabic. In a short time, Aline Lahoud’s audition became the most discussed The Voice audition this year with about 5000 tweets per minute.

Of course, Aline Lahoud had been famous in Lebanon after she studied singing, dramatic art while graduating in 2002 in communication arts, majoring in screenplay and directing studies. She also sang for Lebanon at the Eurovision Song Contest in Kiev in 2005 and participated in many films while working as an actor or a director. She won the "Charles Trenet International Trophee" in France in 2005. But now it is her chance to be an international singer and to make all her dreams come true. We wish her all the luck in the show and we are really proud of her!
