NEWS/Hala February Music Festival in Kuwait Is On Fire with The Best Arabic Stars

Every year, more than 80,000 tourists converge to Kuwait to attend the awaited festival in the month of February when one of the most popular festivals in the Middle East, Hala Music Festival will be held at the Ice Skating Rink. Besides the entertainment fabulous shows which took an important part of the festival, the musical concerts are the most awaited events at this marvelous festival. Every Thursday and Friday, a new star kicks off a show more stunning than the last. The long-month festival features cultural activities as series of parades and shopping carnivals.

The festivities started last Thursday with the young and talented Moroccan songstress, Egypt-based Jennat, who is well known for singing in the Egyptian dialect with fans all over the Arab world.  The festival was launched with almost a full theater, with a total of 2400 seats, according to the organizers. Many security measurements were taken for the crowd of the stars who are performing. It was obvious the well organization of the concerts with three entrances, bright décor and lighting adding a charming ambience for the shows. A full coverage by media was available with the live broadcast on Kuwait TV and Rotana channels, as well as the local radio station.

Following Jennat, the Lebanese popular singer Elissa, the queen of romance, started her performance around midnight taking center-stage. She sang a many of her sensational songs with all the charm she had. Fifteen minutes later, it came the time for the most popular Egyptian prominent singer Amr Diab who set the stage on fire while the audience went crazy with his top hits. Mingling with the audience, for more than 30 years, Amr Diab has made a brilliant career in front of the audience with so many fans that love him and has won three times the World Music Award for the best sales in the Middle East.

The second Hala concert was not less successful than the first one, but this time it was the Gulf spirit that took over the music ambience. Held on Friday night with the  two top singers, Nawal Al Kuwaitiya and the veteran Saudi legend Mohammed Abdo performing to a packed audience, the concert was kicked off  in an incredible way. Dressed in a long red outfit, Nawal, who is the first female singer in Kuwait, enthralled the audience with her most popular songs. Many of her fans screamed out to her and told her how much they loved her and wanted her to sing all her best numbers. Then it was the Saudi legend Mohammed Abdo's turn to burst onto the stage. The audience gave him a standing ovation and welcomed their beloved veteran singer who has a huge fan following in Saudi Arabia. For more than 43 years in the music industry, Mohamad Abdo made a history in the Gulf region by insisting on giving the best songs for the Saudi music repertoire.

More concerts will be held this month as a part of the Hala February music festival with a concert held tonight with the Iraqi singer Shaza Hassoun, the Lebanese star Najwa Karam and Abadi El Jawhar. Later on their will be a concert for Matraf El Matraf with Balkis and Rabeh Saker, then Majed Al Mouhandes, Diana Haddad, Abdallah Roueishid, and a final show with Jaber El Kasser, Ahlam and Nabil Cheail. It is sure to be an eventful month!
