NEWS/Haifa Wehbe Asks Hakim To Sing in Her New Film

Few weeks ago, we knew through some media presses about a secret special meeting, between the Lebanese beauty singer and actress Haifa Wehbe and the popular Egyptian folk singer Hakim, that had taken place to prepare a surprise for the Arab World and their fans especially in Egypt and Lebanon. The Lebanese diva Haifa Wehbe intended to ask the internationally known songster Hakim to join her much-anticipated film "Halawet Rouh." (Sweetness of the Soul)

Hakim had agreed with Haifa Wehbe to sing the theme song for the new film, which is scheduled to finally see the light at the movies this coming April. This deal was the fruit of a hard work from the film's producers Al Sabki, who insisted on Hakim to sing the theme song, and appear with Haifa as a singer at one of the parties where she was set to dance for money. This film had been considered a much controversial piece of art that passed a very hard path in the censorship authorities offices before their producers received permission to distribute and show for the public in cinema theaters. They had to remove 27 lines from the script, as they were deemed very inappropriate, especially for children. Also the movie had been rated "R" so under-eighteen audiences will not be allowed t watch it.

Haifa Wehbe released the trailer of her movie "Halawet Rouh" a few days ago. The story reveals the life of a pretty woman who lives a very lonely life in Cairo, capital of Egypt, and her husband had to leave the country to find work abroad. The film is written by Ali Al Joundi and directed by Sameh Abdel Aziz.

Despite all the hard work and efforts to make this film successful with a large number of the trailer views, Haifa Wehbe's film trailer was criticized to have imitated the Italian actress Monica Bellucci's famous Martini Gold commercial. A presenter from Access A-list, a daily celebrity program on the London-based Levant TV said that the teaser was fully inspired by a commercial for Martini Gold starring Monica Bellucci and its undeniable all the similarities between them, not to mention the music. But the director Abdel Aziz denied all the accusations of similarity.

We wish Haifa the best and will wait for the movie to be shown in theatres so we can review it!
